HOW TO PRAY Imagine yourself trying ot learn a language that has never been written. Imagine yourself trying to understand the complexities of a culture very different from your own. Pray for perserverence and diligence. Pray for confidence in God in order to overcome these obstacles. Also pray for clear communication of the Gospel in the language of the isolated ethnic groups in a culturally relevant way. Imagine yourself living in a native community where you depend on other team members to buy groceries, take care of your bookkeeping, pay your bills and take care of other needs that you cannot do because you are so far away. Praise the Lord for the missionaries who are doing esential work in the city (support missionaries) that permit the missionaires in the native communities to start churches. Pray for teamwork and that each missionary would feel an integral part of the great work which is to see the isolated ethnic groups come to know Christ. Imagine yourself educating your children while living in a different culture. Homeschooling: Pray that the parents could maintain a balance, patience and diligence in the education of their children and for the provision for the needs of those parents who teach at home. Imagine yourself attending to personal needs at different levels. Imagine the native people needing medical attention from you. Imagine your familiy needing medical help. Imagine living away from your church community and the interpersonal relationships of your friends and family because you live far away and without communication. Imagine feeling the impact of spirit darkness all around you. Pray for the missionaries that they would dedicate the time for spiritual refreshment and rest. That they would chose the best of the good, since there are more needs than to which they can attend. That there would not be roots of bitterness growing among the members of the family or among the missionaries. For joy in the Lord, in spite of the circumstances. For spiritural progress. For maintaining a fresh vision to see the native people come to know Christ as Savior and mature in the faith. Imagine praying regularly for the missionaries of New Horizons. You can experience the power of God and know Him better. Participating in the battle for souls of the native people and asking for the spiritual health of those that minister to them, you are affecting the lives of the people for eternity.
